Biomethane is a byproduct of treated wastewater. Microorganisms break down and release material gas, which can then be used in slightly modified engines ... Currently in a sewage plant in the city, half the gas is burned, which is an emission of 17 tons of CO2 ... From September 2009, this gas will be trapped and converted into biomethane that will run 200 public buses in the city ...
